Project Description

The EOLE line (Est-Ouest Liaison Express) is a major project of the Île-de-France Regional Express Network (RER), aiming to connect the eastern and western suburbs of the Paris region via the underground Haussmann–Saint-Lazare station.

The project consists of two phases:

  • The first phase involves the commissioning of the eastern section of the line.

  • The second phase consists of extending the line westward along a route that has evolved over the years.

Currently, only the first phase has been completed. It connects the center of Paris from Haussmann–Saint-Lazare station (E1 branch) to the eastern suburbs, reaching Chelles–Gournay (E2 branch) and Tournan (E4 branch).
The second phase aims to extend this line (RER E) from Haussmann–Saint-Lazare to Mantes-la-Jolie, via La Défense and Nanterre. The extension includes the construction of a new 8-km tunnel between Haussmann–Saint-Lazare and La Défense. After emerging at Nanterre, the line will connect to the existing railway tracks between Paris Saint-Lazare and Mantes-la-Jolie via Poissy (Paris–Le Havre line 34 000, Group V of the Paris Saint-Lazare region).

To ensure the maintenance and repair of the new-generation EOLE trains, a Technicentre is planned on a railway site located near Mantes-la-Jolie station. The scope of the contract presented includes the construction of the following facilities:

  • A 6-track maintenance workshop

  • A waste management area and graffiti removal zone

  • A train washing machine

  • An underfloor wheel lathe

  • A “Banlieue” stabling yard

  • A viaduct crossing the site

  • An interlocking control center (PAI)

Our Services

TRACTEDIS, as a partner of SETEC Ferroviaire, is responsible for design and construction supervision for:

  • Electrical power supply (temporary and permanent phases)

  • General site lighting

Power Supply (Temporary and Permanent Phases)

As part of this mission, TRACTEDIS carries out PRO/DCE design studies, VISA approvals, and construction supervision (DET) for the electrical supply required for early works, maintenance of existing systems, and the new installations.
This includes:

  • Installation of a 4 MVA delivery substation

  • Installation of a 630 kVA transformer

  • Creation of an internal 20 kV loop across the site

  • Installation of an 800 kVA transformer station connected to the loop

  • Low-voltage internal distribution for powering buildings, external lighting, switch point heating cabinets, and maintenance power outlets.

Lighting

TRACTEDIS also conducts all PRO/DCE lighting studies, VISA reviews, and construction supervision (DET) for both temporary and permanent phases.
This scope includes the design and sizing of the electrical lighting system for the entire site.
